Her research investigates the embodied dimensions of writing knowledge, focusing on writers&#8217; felt awareness and the spatio-temporal conditions of sustained creative work. She combines microphenomenological methodology with an original collective writing practice grounded in the body and somatic movement practices to explore how writing emerges at the threshold of body and language. Laaksonen holds an MA in Film from the University of Art and Design Helsinki (now Aalto University) and a BS in Mass Communication from Miami University, Ohio.
