Outi Condit is an actor, performance maker, and self-professed pedestrian cyborg, currently finishing the artistic doctoral project, How to be a Medium? at the Performing Arts Research Centre, Uniarts Helsinki. Condit makes use of the unfixedness of the actorly stance to tinker with the integrity of staged bodies and bodies as stages. The research explores how experiential corporeality is reshaped through shifts in material, political, and technological assemblages. Condit’s methods include techno-metabolic theatrics and undisciplined collaborations, which have produced works that perform on both artistic and academic platforms. As the doctoral process nears closure, the project is reinvented as a digitally written hybrid actor. Condit is a member of the live art collective Other Spaces and Reality Research Centre collective, co-convenor of the playback theater Hyvä Kätilö with Jaana Taskinen, and founding member of the artistic research cluster Q̶͈̬̿͝l̴̛̬̝̒o̵̰̍̔ǘ̴̼ḓ̷̟̓̅s̷̻̦̆Q̠̿͒u̷͓A̘͝r̷̖͈̀͝ṭ̶̏z̶̩̩ with Simo Kellokumpu and Vincent Roumagnac.
